Musical Background
- Meghan comes from a very musical family. Her father, Gary Trainor, has performed professionally since the 60's as a keyboardist and vocalists in bands and duo acts throughout the country. He also taught band and music theory on Nantucket for grades 1-12 for 8 years.
Meghan's Aunt & Uncle, Lisa and Burton Toney are Soca artists from Trinidad and Tobago.
Meghan also had a great-uncle who was a acclaimed guitar player, whose band opened for Jimi Kendrix, Janis Joplin and recorded in Les Paul's studio. Long-time friends of her great-uncle, Bob LaPalm are NRBQ members, Joey and Johnny Spampinato. They both are featured on her recordings: Simple Love & Waterfalls on her first album, Meghan Trainor. - Meghan has been in the band Island Fusion for 5 years. She sings lead and back-up
vocals, performed keyboards, guitar, and auxiliary percussion. The band has performed many events and fund-raisers on Nantucket Island, including opening for Jamaican artist Beenie Man. Also in the band are her aunt and uncle, Lisa and Burton Toney, her dad, Gary Trainor, her brother, Justin Trainor and one of her Dad's former students, Henry Hastings.
- Meghan Recorded 2 Songs (Waterfalls and Simple Love) with Johnny and Joey Spampinato (NRBQ), Gary Locke and Liam Hogg (both of The Rip it Ups), and Seth Burkhart (Opus 3 Jazz Trio)

- Summer of 2009 and 2010: Meghan attends the Berklee College of Music's 5 Week Performance Program. In 2009, Meghan was 1 of the 12 finalists in their songwriting contest with her song "One Chance" which she wrote her first night there. In 2010, She was awarded a FULL SCHOLARSHIP to return to Berklee for the Summer of 2011.

features local musicians in their "Cheap Seats" Program.
Meghan's songs are often played there. She was named one of their top 20 artists for the year 2009.
- Summer of 2007. Meghan attended American Idol's
first Summer Camp.
- Meghan has been performing music since she was 7 and writing and producing her own music since she was 11.
